Origins

Runes were the letters of the early Germanic peoples. The oldest system — and the one most often used in modern rune study and divination — is the Elder Futhark, with 24 runes.

Modern rune divination builds on their symbolism in several ways: drawing, casting and reading them in combination. This tool reads the positions and relationships of five runes as they naturally fall, together with the symbolism of each rune.
