Tarot

Five cards read as one story: how the matter took shape, the inner stance you bring to it, what its real core is now, how present conditions are acting on it, and where it is likely to head from here.

Origins

Tarot appeared in fifteenth-century Europe, first as a card game and only later as a practice of divination and self-inquiry. A modern deck holds 78 cards — the 22 Major Arcana and 56 Minor Arcana — read through image, symbol, position and the relationships between the cards.

The readings here are grounded in the Rider–Waite tradition, and every card is read through both its light and its shadow: the light shows the resources and possibilities you can draw on; the shadow helps you see what has not yet been seen or integrated.

Questions to try

  • What is really at the heart of this right now?
  • How are past experience and my own expectations shaping the choices I am making?
  • Given where things stand, how is this likely to develop?
